A woman has been said to have sold off her infant baby girl only to use the money to give herself a treat.

Punch Metro reports that the agents of the Edo State Police Command have started examination concerning the charged offer of a six-week-old child by her a 23-year-old mother, Miracle Johnson.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Johnson Kokumo, who affirmed the occurrence, depicted it as a genuine offense.

Punch Metro reports that Miracle sold the child, Greatness, to a halfway house in Onitsha, Anambra State, for N200,000.

It was learnt that the nursing mother, who hails from Agenebode, in the Etsako East Local Government Area of the state, was paid in real money.

She was said to have utilized piece of the returns to purchase a cell phone.

Wonder, a mother of two, pointed the finger at her activity on dissatisfaction and the powerlessness of her significant other to deal with her and her other youngsters.

She said she was convinced by one Mama Joy, said to be on the loose, to offer the baby and give the cash to her significant other to begin a business.

She stated, "My child was conceived on July 2. I sold her because of disappointment. My better half was simply battling (to accommodate us).

"My companion (Mama Joy) said that since my significant other was not dealing with me, in the event that I did it (sold the infant), I could give the cash to my better half to begin a business or purchase a cruiser.

"After two weeks, she returned. I didn't realize the end result for me. Thus, I conveyed a pack, picked a few things and left.

"I sold her to a halfway house in Onitsha. The halfway house purchased the youngster for N200,000. I just purchased just a telephone; I would not like to get it, however she (Mama Joy) constrained me to do as such," she included.

Wonder expressed that she lamented her activity and later admitted to her minister.

She stated, "I told my minister what I did and that it was a confuse for which I could never excuse myself. In this way, my significant other and I went to a police headquarters to report. I realize what I did was bad. I implore that my kid will excuse me."

Her significant other, Johnson Omovuokpor, communicated outrage that his better half proceeded with her arrangement, notwithstanding his dissatisfaction.

He stated, "When she informed me concerning her arrangement, I enlightened her to overlook regarding it and exercise tolerance.

"On that day, I took my cruiser out for repairs. When I returned home to get some cash, I saw my first little girl with my neighbor.

"When I got some information about my better half's whereabouts, I was informed that she went out with a sack, saying that she would purchase something. Thus, I recollected what she said she needed to do with the child.

"When she called me later toward the evening to reveal to me that she had sold the child, I reviled her and finished the call. I wound up confounded a short time later and couldn't do anything for whatever remains of that day."

The Commissioner of Police in the state said the infant would be protected while the suspect would be charged to court.

Kokumo stated, "It is a demonstration against laws in Nigeria. Since we have the lady in our net, we will charge her to court. The infant will be saved."
